You would not know it to look at me but I love working out. Sometimes I like going to the gym but most of the times I would rather just workout at home. I like going to the gym at odd hours. I like going when very few people are there. That way I can sit on a machine when I finish without getting in the way of anyone else. My favorite machines at the gym are the Stairmaster and the treadmill. The Stairmaster can be very hard if you don’t spend the whole workout leaning over the machine and holding on to the railing for dear life. Is that the way you climb stairs. I slow it down and stand up like a normal person climbing stairs. I get a longer, deeper stride that way.
I also try not touching the railing at all but for me this is really hard. I can do it for about 20 steps then I must touch the railing for balance. The most time I spend on the Stairmaster is 45 minutes. usually if I intend to work out with weights I will only do 20 minutes. on the Stairmaster after working out with the weights.
I don’t do the Stairmaster every day. I also use the treadmill. It’s hard for me to control myself on the treadmill because I can only fast walk on the treadmill but most of the time I want to run not walk. I feel very completive and went someone gets on the machine next to me and they are going fast I want to go faster. I can go faster and sometimes I do and I end up paying the price the next day. You see I have an old foot injury from my marathon running days of the 1990’s If I use the treadmill for 3 consecutive days or run for one day I will have pain. It’s too bad because I really love running.
